Very few people know the entire truth about Merion. Even fewer know them as a friend. Introverted and shy by nature, Merion has been avoiding the attention of other immortals for a long time, ever since the infamous incident when they were devastated by their counterpart's betrayal. Their quiet and meek nature hides a surprising amount of depth, insight, and talent. Still, it would take a miracle for them to fully get over everything that's happened to them. Nevertheless, they manage to connect with friends both old and new, resulting in some unpredictable but positive life changes.PAST
Merion specializes in being mysterious, with unclear origin, gender, or powers. Some time ago, they decided they had enough of being lonely and moved in to Averna's lighthouse, where she offers safe shelter to immortals who have nowhere else to go. Merion doesn't often open up or speak about their past very much, and they don't even remember which artifacts in the storeroom once belonged to them. Their secretive tendencies are an old habit, but ultimately something that they need to learn to work through, which they do with Corax and Cal's help. Eventually.POWERS AND ABILITIES
Merion's powers focus on neutralizing threats from others. They can summon, shape, and control force fields, and theoretically, are able to defeat any other immortal in combat. However, their completely pacifist personality means they won't cause much trouble, unless someone else starts some trouble.DESIGN NOTES: Primary
Merion's design is mysterious and ghostly, dressed in a completely desaturated gray palette. They wear a layered outfit with some fantasy design elements, but it's also similar to comfortable human casual clothes like a sweatshirt. Their hood, which partly obscures their face, is the most important element of their outfit design.DESIGN NOTES: Alternate
Merion's alt represents their character development, in a small way. It reveals more of their face (their hair is visible) and lacks the long trailing scarf, though it's similarly made of soft gray materials and has multiple layers.DESIGN NOTES: Defining Traits
Merion's palette is entirely gray. Any design for them would have to feature a hood, since it's their signature trait. Their clothes should always look cozy and comfortable, without very many visible fasteners and no metal pieces. Layered clothing is very typical for them.CREDITS
